Mike began his career making art glass in 2001 at Santa Ana College with training by his professor and mentor, Rhys Williams. He has been a professional assistant to glass artist Jon Oakes at his glass studio.

Nature and animals has been an influence in the work made by Mike. One of his favorite creations are glass fish which was influenced from the time he spent fly fishing on the rivers in Montana. As a lifelong motorcycle rider, you will see him regularly make glass representations of them.
